Welcome inside Gårdcafé Skovgaardsminde

We have been SO excited to open the doors to Gårdcaféen Skovgaardsminde. It's a huge dream for both Lisanne and I to have our own cozy café. To invite you inside to the smell of good coffee and freshly baked pastries, while enjoying the company of your loved ones. To sit in a cozy and charming setting overlooking the fields and Kattegat. Well, for us, that's the recipe for the sweet life in the countryside.

Lisanne and I met in the restaurant industry in Copenhagen back in 2015, where we worked together for a number of years. So when we talked about future dreams at home, we always circled a restaurant or café as one of our common goals. This year, it has been realized in the form of a Farm Café at Skovgaardsminde.

You will find us at Hou Engvej 13, 9370 Hals

Just 2 km north of Hou you'll find the farm café. The best bike ride is along Hou Engvej where you pass the beautiful Scottish Highland cattle. Or come directly to the café by Møllevej, which runs through the Hou Nord summer house area.

Gårdcafé Skovgaardsminde always serves a good cup of coffee and a BMO

In the farm café we always have freshly brewed coffee from the ØNSK coffee brand. We always have a BMO (Bolle Med Ost) and a crispy croissant from our skilled baker, William who owns Bread by Kærup in Aalborg.

Every Sunday we strive to have a little news

This could be new baked goods, new coffee on the coffee menu, sales of various local products, or a great offer from some of our suppliers.
In the café you will also find regular sales of art, ceramics, bouquets, jams, sausages and other goodies that fit perfectly on the breakfast table.

The farm café is open throughout the summer, every Sunday from 08:00 - 11:00

We still have Glamping Skovgaardsminde to look after next to the farm café and with very small twins, there are plenty of balls in the air for 2 people. That's why we're keeping the café open every Sunday from 08.00 - 11.00. If it turns out that there is interest and demand for longer opening hours or more opening days, then that would be absolutely fantastic and we will definitely look into accommodating this.

We have strived to make the café modern, cozy and not least with a huge shot of North Jutland charm, so we hope you want to come and have a chat, a good cup of coffee and something good for the stomach.
